چکیده
This book is organized into eight chapters. The first three gently introduce the basic principles of hybrid high-order methods on a linear diffusion problem, key ideas underlying mathematical analysis, and some useful variants method as well links to other from literature. following four present various challenging applications solid mechanics, including elasticity hyperelasticity, elastodynamics, contact/friction, plasticity. last chapter reviews implementation aspects. primarily intended for graduate students, researchers (in applied mathematics, numerical computational mechanics), engineers working in related fields application. Basic knowledge devising analysis finite element assumed. Special effort was made streamline presentation so pinpoint essential ideas, address aspects, examples, provide bibliographic pointers.

Hybrid High-Order methods for finite deformations of hyperelastic materials
We devise and evaluate numerically Hybrid High-Order (HHO) methods for hyperelastic materials undergoing finite deformations. The HHO methods use as discrete unknowns piecewise polynomials of order k ≥ 1 on the mesh skeleton, together with cell-based polynomials that can be eliminated locally by static condensation. The discrete problem is written as the minimization of the broken nonlinear ela...
متن کاملBridging the Hybrid High-Order and Hybridizable Discontinuous Galerkin Methods
We build a bridge between the hybrid high-order (HHO) and the hybridizable discontinuous Galerkin (HDG) methods in the setting of a model diffusion problem. First, we briefly recall the construction of HHO methods and derive some new variants. Then, by casting the HHO method in mixed form, we identify the numerical flux so that the HHO method can be compared to HDG methods. In turn, the incorpo...
متن کاملHigh-Order Factorization Based High-Order Hybrid Fast Sweeping Methods for Point-Source Eikonal Equations
The solution for the eikonal equation with a point-source condition has an upwind singularity at the source point as the eikonal solution behaves like a distance function at and near the source. As such, the eikonal function is not differentiable at the source so that all formally high-order numerical schemes for the eikonal equation yield first-order convergence and relatively large errors. Th...
متن کاملDomain Decomposition Preconditioning for High Order Hybrid Discontinuous Galerkin Methods on Tetrahedral Meshes
Hybrid discontinuos Galerkin methods are popular discretization methods in applications from fluid dynamics and many others. Often large scale linear systems arising from elliptic operators have to be solved. We show that standard p-version domain decomposition techniques can be applied, but we have to develop new technical tools to prove poly-logarithmic condition number estimates, in particul...
